Bangkok Transport Guide

Bangkok is known for its tuk-tuks and colourful taxis, but the public transport is a better option to avoid the heavy traffic in the Thai capital. The Skytrains and the Bangkok metro connect the main entertainment and shopping areas, while the bus network covers parts not served by train.

BTS Skytrains are practical and efficient. There are two lines that intersect at Siam Station. The Sukhumvit Line ends at Mo Chit, travelling along the Sukhumvit Road and the Siam Square. You can take the Silom Line to reach the Express Boat pier and the National Stadium. The service runs between 06:30 and 00:00.

Two metro lines serve the city of Bangkok. The Blue Line starts from Hua Lamphong and passes by the Bangkok main train station, while the Purple Line goes from Khlong Bang Phai. Both lines intersect at Tao Poon, while the connection to BRT is at Asok. The metro is available from 06:00 to 00:00.

Buses in Bangkok run from 05:30 to 00:00 with several bus lines that operate during the night. The main bus station is Mo Chit Bus Terminal that handles domestic and international bus lines. Bangkok is connected to the Thai provinces of Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Chiang Mai, Lampang and Chiang Rai. There are international bus connections to Cambodia and Laos from this station.

Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is one of the busiest in Southeast Asia and also Bangkok's primary international airport. It is also a regional hub and connecting point for many carriers, located around 25 km from Bangkok.

The Bangkok Airport Rail Link is a fast and reliable public transport option and it is connected to Bangkok city centre. The train runs to Phayathai Station and the travel time is only 30 minutes. There is also a commuter train service available, but it is slower and makes more stops on the way.

Regular bus lines run to Sanamluang Bus Terminal, Rangsit and Central Rama. Public vans are available, as well, and they are connected to Minburi, Happy Land, Victory Monument, Samut Prakarn and Rangsit.

The Suvarnabhumi airport transfer service is a fast and reliable way to reach your destination. Most of the taxis have a meter. However, you can negotiate a flat rate with the driver before you enter the taxi. Keep in mind that in rush hours, you might need to wait in a queue.

For a stress-free journey to your accommodation, book a private Bangkok airport transfer with us. We provide door-to-door service to any destination. All our vehicles are clean and air-conditioned. The cost for the airport transfer is fixed and charged by vehicle. The latest prices for a private taxi from Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok city centre are on the link.

Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is one of the oldest in the world. It serves mainly low-cost flights. Commuter trains run to Hua Lamphong Railway Station, where you can change to the metro. Regular buses will take you to Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi Airport, while metered airport taxis are available, as well.

If you want to explore Thailand further, our private transportation services are also available if you land in: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Koh Samui, Krabi, Maehong Son and Phuket.
