The Swiss ski resort of Davos is one of the highest Alpine resorts in Europe. Davos is part of the Rega Pass Area ski area which offers more than 320km of downhill skiing, including 75 km of cross-country tracks and 55 ski lifts. Winter sports in Davos

Davos’ and Klosters’ ski slopes are linked, so in total this ski area has six separate ski sectors with 320km of pistes. This ski resort is perfect for intermediates, while experts can enjoy challenging black runs and off-piste opportunities, as well.

Parsenn is the largest of all six sectors and excellent for intermediates. The funicular goes from Dorf up to Weissfluhjoch, where you can continue on a short cable car ride to Weissfluhgipfel, the highest point in the ski area, at 2,844 metres. The challenging black runs for experts are down through the Meierhofer Talli to Wolfgang, as well as, the routes down to Klosters. Although Davos is not the best resort for beginners, they can still practice their skills at the Bolgen nursery slope.

There are many different winter activities available like snowboarding, cross country, off-piste, tobogganing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, curling, ice skating, ice climbing, snow beach volleyball, and dog slopes.


Until 1946, Davos was known as a rehabilitation centre for tuberculosis. At that time, the ski tourism was starting to emerge, so luxury hotels replaced the sanatoriums. Ex-Bar is another place to party during the weekends, while Morosani Posthotel with its alpine decor attracts the cool crowd.

Arriving in Davos

With its location in the eastern Alps region of Switzerland, Davos is accessible by air, rail and road transportation.

Travelling by train to Davos is the best way to admire the serene alpine beauty. There are two train stations in the town – Davos Platz and Davos Dorf Train Station. Trains run hourly from Zurich Hauptbahnhof to Davos during the day. There are also regular train connections to the neighbouring town of Klosters.
