You will visit the historical Villa Torrigiani, dating from the second half of the sixteenth century and admire the long and monumental avenue leading to the villa lined with cypresses.
The "garden of Flora" will charm you with an amusing and surprising ensemble of grottoes, nymph temples, flowers, masks and secret water games. The heart of the park is the Nymphaeum of Winds, named for the statues personifying the winds, where the paths converge.The villa is opened every day from 1st Saturday in March to 1st Sunday in November, and by appointment the rest of the year.
Next you will see Villa Garzoni, an ornamented baroque spectacle in a bucolic valley dating from the late 12th century with two large circular pools with jets of water and grottoes, the statues of Flora, the Faun, Diana, Bacchus, Apollo and Daphne. The plants and hedges, cut into wonderful examples create a scenic background. The supporting walls of the steps contain niches decorated with statues in terracotta, gargoyles, fountains and plays of water. A double branched waterfall flows down from a small lake topped by the heroic terracotta statue of Fame.
Villa Reale di Marlia was designed by Morel for Napoleon's sister Elisa Baciocchi Bonaparte and restored in the early twentieth century. You will see the baroque gardens, the "water theatre" with a grotto featuring Leda and the Swan, a Spanish garden, the Italian garden at the Bishop's Palace, a world-famous lemon garden and most memorable of all, the "theatre of verdure".
Villa Mansi is the poster girl of Lucchese villas. Surrounded by exquisite gardens, the villa is one of the most magnificent estates in Tuscany. Marble the eight statues, placed between Doric columns on the two upper levels. See the decorated interior with gilded ornaments, paintings and frescos from the neoclassical period.
End your day with the magnificent Villa Grabau, an outstanding example of neo-classical architecture! Walk along the nine hectare park made up of a box hedge theatre, a large English Garden with its many rare species of tall trees, and a great Italian garden, whose lawns, encircled by a large row of Holm-Oak and Laurel in exedra style, are decorated with over one hundred terracotta vases of 100-year-old lemon trees. Fountains decorated with grotesque masks and white marble statues placed along the garden, tall hedges through which shady paths twist, give a romantic and mysterious atmosphere.
