The Belgrade public transport is extensive and integrated, using one tariff system. It includes the bus, tram and trolleybus networks.
Belgrade has 11 tram and 7 trolleybus lines. They are useful to get around the centre of the city, as well as, to reach some of the neighbourhoods in Belgrade. The bus network, on the other hand, covers most of the city and the suburbs. There are 149 regular and 25 night bus lines. If you're in a hurry, you can use some of the minibuses which have fewer stops.
The main Belgrade Railway Station is the main hub for domestic and international trains. Trains depart every day to the major Serbian cities, like Valjevo, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, etc. Belgrade is, also, connected to the other capitals on the Balkans, as well as, to Vienna and Zurich.
Nicola Tesla Belgrade Airport (BEG) is the biggest hub for air traffic in Serbia. In the last several years it has seen an increase in both the number of destinations and the frequency of flights. Unfortunately, it is not connected to the main regional railway link - the Central Belgrade railway station, therefore the best way to get to the city is by car or bus. Several transport options are available from Belgrade Airport.
Minibus A1 operates to Slavija Square with bus stops in New Belgrade (Fontana stop) and near the main train station along the way. Tickets for this public city bus can be purchased from the driver.
Getting a taxi from the stand outside the arrivals gate is fairly easy to manage once you leave the arrivals hall, however unpleasant surprises, such as too high rates for the transfer, are not excluded.

Sometimes Belgrade serves an entry point to the whole Balkan region - from Adriatic coast (Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik or Budva) to the Egean (Thessaloniki or Skopje and Sofia along the way).
