There are several bus terminals across the city that serve bus routes to the neighbourhoods in Greater Jakarta, as well as, to other cities on the island of Java. The biggest bus terminal is Pulo Gebang Station.
Commuter trains connect Jakarta city centre with the nearby regions of Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi, Bogor, Bojonggede and Serpong. The trains are comfortable, but they can get very crowded during rush hour. Commuter services are available from 04:00 to 00:00 every day. Long-distance trains depart from Gambir station and connect Jakarta with other cities on Java Island.
Soekarno–Hatta International (CGK) is the main international airport that serves Greater Jakarta. It is one of the busiest in the world that handles domestic and international flights and is located at Benda, approximately 20 km from Jakarta city centre.
Several shuttle bus companies provide services to Central Jakarta and the neighbourhoods, as well as, to some hotels in Greater Jakarta. The bus service operates from 06:00 to 23:00. The journey to Gambir railway station is 70 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Also, free shuttle service runs between the terminals.
