Noida is a planned city in India, located 25 km from New Delhi. Since it is a planned city, Noida actually officially exists from 1976. The public transport in Noida includes metro, bus and taxi services.
The bus service in Noida is available from 5.30 am until 11.30 pm and has many stops throughout Noida. The buses in Noida are pretty new, air-conditioned and accessible for people with disability as well. There are six bus routes which run throughout the city. The bus fare is calculated according to the distance, the lowest from 0 to 3 km, while the highest for 30 km or more.
The metro system in Noida is connected to Greater Noida. There is a metro every 10 minutes during peak hours and its working hours are from 6 am to 10 pm. On Sundays the metro service starts a bit later, at 8 am.
Since Noida doesn't have an airport, the closest one is the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. It is located 16 km from New Delhi city centre and 33 km from Noida city centre. To get to Noida from Indira Gandhi International Airport you can catch a bus, metro, taxi or book a private airport transfer.
To get to Noida by using public transport you should use the metro and bus. First, take the orange metro line which will take you to New Delhi Station and the travel time is 26 minutes. This transfer is available every 10 minutes. Once you get at the Station, you should walk for around 8 minutes to get to Gate 1 at the New Delhi Railway Station. At the bus stop, bus number 355 will take you to Noida in 49 minutes, and there is a bus every 15 minutes. The whole journey will take you about one and a half hour. It is not recommended to travel by metro and bus if you have luggage and you are a first time visitor.
From Indira Gandhi International Airport you can also take a taxi to get to your accommodation in Noida. The trip by a cab will be significantly faster, taking you to Noida city centre in 30 minutes.
